Nicole Biguenet Pedersen

Nicole Biguenet Pedersen began her career as a lawyer practicing international corporate litigation at a large law firm in New York. She then moved into compliance consulting for an international freight forwarder, where she built and administered its export compliance program and consulted on import matters. Recognizing a growing need in the industry for export compliance guidance and transportation-related legal services, she formed Biguenet Pedersen consulting.

Pedersen has been deeply involved in the freight forwarding and logistics industry. She was a member of the Export Compliance subcommittee of the National Customs Broker and Forwarders Association of America from 2016 - 2017. She was a featured speaker at the CLC Network's 2016 meeting in Panama City, delivering a presentation titled, "U.S. Trade Regulations Affecting Non-U.S. Companies."

Pedersen has worked with both U.S. and non-U.S. companies in implementing compliance strategies, obtaining certifications and registrations with the FMC, Customs and Border Protection (CTPAT), the State Department, and the Department of Defense, creating documentation and policies, guiding through claims disputes, reviewing contracts, managing risks, training staff and providing seminars, conducting audits, speaking to U.S. federal agencies on behalf of her clients, submitting reports and applications to the U.S. government, and answering both day-to-day and more general logistics questions.
